2019 Honda HR-V — What’s New?

Honda recently announced that the 2019 refresh of the HR-V would be arriving at dealerships this summer. Exciting updates to the HR-V strengthen its position as one of the most attractive subcompact SUVs on the market. Changes like refreshed styling, updated technology, and ride refinements make the 2019 Honda HR-V a solid choice for buyers. 2019 Honda HR-V Exterior Styling

Many enhancements have been made to the HR-V’s styling for the 2019 model year. Honda’s signature “flying wing” grille accent is now rendered in dark chrome and extends over the projector-style headlights. Both the grille and fog light housings have also been revised, giving the HR-V a wider, more aggressive look. On the rear, smoked turn signal lenses and chrome accents give the 2019 model a more upscale appearance. Plus, new colors including Orange Burst Metallic, Midnight Amethyst Metallic, and Platinum White Pearl allow buyers to find an HR-V that suits their personality.

For the new Sport trim, unique design elements help it stand out from the crowd. These elements include enhanced lower body trim, glossy black paint incorporated throughout the body, a honeycomb pattern grille, exclusive 18-inch alloy wheels, and a chrome exhaust finisher. The new Touring trim also incorporates a honeycomb grille, plus multi-element LED headlights and fog lights, 17-inch alloy wheels, and enhanced lower body trim.

2019 Honda HR-V Technology

One of the more prominent additions to the 2019 HR-V is available Honda Sensing safety and driver-assistive technology. “With application to HR-V, Honda Sensing is now available or standard on every Honda model,” said Henio Arcangeli, Jr., senior vice president of American Honda Motor Co., Inc. and general manager of the Honda Division. “[It] is both an incredible benefit to our customers and increased value over the competition.” Honda Sensing includes features like Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS)¹, Road Departure Mitigation (RDM)², Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)³, and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)⁴. Honda Sensing is standard on 2019 HR-V EX trims and above, which will also include the Honda LaneWatch camera.

The new 7-inch Display Audio system (available in Sport and higher trims) supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A new, easier-to-use interface and the inclusion of a physical volume knob improve the usability of the infotainment system.

2019 Honda HR-V Ride

Refinements to the continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) and available all-wheel drive system improve the ride of the 2019 HR-V. Other improvements include additional sound deadening features and variable-ratio electric power steering.
