Best Sales Month Ever for American Honda Motor Co.

American Honda Motor Co., Inc. reported the best sales month ever in September. 142,722 vehicles were sold in the month of September alone. This represents a 6.8% increase over the 129,776 vehicles sold in September of 2016. Honda cars and trucks both set sales records in September. Honda cars made a significant increase in September selling 69,407 units, a 14.5% increase over 2016. Sales of Honda trucks rose slightly by 0.2% with 60,339 sales. While the growth for the truck division was not large it still represents the best-sales month ever and shows a steady growth of competitiveness in the pickup market.

35,452 Honda Civic Sold

The Honda Civic showed the most growth in September. 35,452 Honda Civics were sold representing a 25.8% increase in sales over this time last year. One factor driving the popularity of the Honda Civic in 2017 is its outstanding fuel economy and top safety ratings. 29,789 Honda Accords Sold

The Honda Accord made a notable sales increase this month as well. 29,789 Honda Accords were sold in September representing a 9.5% increase in sales. This followed a successful launch of their media campaign spotlighting the 2018 Honda Accord. The industry had expected to see the decline of the Honda Accord when it was announced that the Honda Accord Coupe would be discontinued.
