The Downtown Sumner Sidewalk Sale will return to Sumner on Saturday, June 16, 2018 from 10 AM-5 PM. Organized by the Sumner Downtown Promotion Association, the Sidewalk Sale brings several local businesses together to offer special discounts on their merchandise. Offerings include antiques, fashion, home goods, housewares, vintage items, clothing, and recycled items. The event has taken place in downtown Sumner for the past several years, and is highly anticipated by local businesses and residents alike. It gives businesses in the downtown area added foot traffic and additional space to merchandise their products, and it offers visitors the chance to discover the unique offerings of local shops, whether they are looking for a one-of-a-kind gift, or something for their own home.

Local Businesses

Last year’s Sidewalk Sale featured a great assortment of local businesses including clothing boutiques, furniture stores, antique shops, restaurants, and others in the downtown area. Participants of the 2017 sale included:

• Kissed by Chloe — boutique specializing in fashion, jewelry, vintage furniture, and décor
• Nicholson’s Pharmacy — family-owned drugstore
• Northlight Interiors — showroom with furniture, home décor, and gifts
• Nurtura MedSpa — medical spa featuring facials, massages, and more
• Off the Beaten Path — antique and collectible shop
• Out of the Attic — furniture store specializing in refurbished/restored pieces
• A Picket Fence — boutique featuring clothing, jewelry, and accessories
• The Rustic Farmhouse — furniture and décor shop with rustic and country pieces
• Simple Tidings & Kitchen — shop with kitchen/cooking items and assorted gifts
• Stuck Junction Saloon — bar and grill (21+ only)
• Sugar Babies — boutique featuring clothing and décor for babies and children
• Sugar Shack Day Spa — day spa offering manicures, pedicures, facials, and more
• Sumner Café — restaurant featuring breakfast and lunch offerings
• Sumner Liquor Store — shop offering beer, wine, and spirits
• Sumner Taekwondo — academy offering martial arts training
• Trackside Pizza — restaurant offering pizza, salad, and more
• Van Lierop Garden Market — shop featuring floral arrangements and décor for home/garden

Visitors should expect another great collection of businesses to participate in this year’s event. With so many different shops to check out, the Sidewalk Sale is a great opportunity to get a taste of everything that downtown Sumner has to offer. Not only will there be sales and discounts at shops, but local restaurants, bars, and spas are also likely to join in on the event. Shopping at these small businesses not only supports the vitality of the local community, but offers visitors the chance to discover items that they won’t find anywhere else.
