August 28th, 2015 by

If you are looking for something to do this September, head over to Puyallup for the annual Washington State Fair. The Fair runs from September 11th to the 27th. There are so many different attractions and exhibits, you will have to visit more than once just to see everything. Check out four of the many attractions and events happening at the State Fair this month:

  1. Go to a Concert: Big stars are coming to Puyallup this fall. Fans of country music will enjoy seeing Keith Urban and Jake Owen in concert. Concert-goers who prefer soul music should check out Patti LaBelle’s concert with the Tacoma Symphony. Other artists making a stop in the area include “Weird Al” Yankovic, Iggy Azalea, and Pitbull.
  2. Special Attractions: Fans of craft beer will be head over heels for the Beer Haven, a mobile bar and brewery. Visitors who are 21 years old or older can sample any of the 60 locally brewed craft beers and chat with the brew masters. If beer is not your thing, Star Trek: The Exhibition gives science fiction fans an in-depth look at the popular series. In addition to checking out the worlds in Star Trek, fans can even sit in the captain’s chair from the USS Enterprise.
  3. Roller Coasters and Midway Rides: The roller coasters and midway rides have something for all riders. Visitors in the mood for an intense attraction will enjoy the Rainer Rush which reaches speeds up to 50 miles per hour. For guests looking for a more sedate experience, check out the Merry-Go-Round, first featured at the Fair in 1923.
  4. Free Events: The Fair offers its fair share of budget-friendly events, and there are events to suit everyone’s interests. Those who want a more traditional fair experience should check out the artistry of the Giant Pumpkin Carving. Visitors looking to laugh must see the Tumbleweed Crossing comedy and stunt show. And the Friday night fireworks show will please almost everyone.

See you at the fair!
