Good Fishing in Sumner, WA Area

Nothing sounds better than your line in the water, a chair on the shore, and a cold drink in hand. Fishing is a treasured pastime in Washington, and we think you have earned the break. This weekend, we will skip out early for a relaxing trip to our favorite fishing spots. We found some of the best fishing spots in Sumner, WA area. Where do you cast your line?

  • Pony Lake

Pony Lake is located just outside of Edgewood. Species found in the lake include both large and smallmouth bass, crappie, walleye, trout, striped bass, catfish and spotted bass.

  • Hylebos Creek

Hylebos is located in Pierce County near Milton. You can fish trout in the creek until October 31st. The minimum size is 14 inches, and the daily limit is two. Anglers report successful spinning, baitcasting and fly fishing activity.

  • Puyallup River

The river is in Pierce County. Salmon season is August 1st through December 31st (from East Main Ave Bridge to Carbon River). The daily limit is six, and up to two additional pink salmon can be kept. The size limit is a minimum of 12 inches. Salmon season for the Snoqualmie River in King County is September 1st to December 31st. Salmon must be at least 12 inches and the daily limit is three, but one additional pink may be retained. Chinook is catch and release.

  • White Stuck River

If you are fishing between the mouth and R St. Bridge, Trout season starts up on Nov 1st and lasts until Jan 15th. The minimum size is 14 inches and the daily limit is two. All game fish is catch-and-release and fly-fishing.
