The Honda Clarity series has been awarded the Coalition for Clean Air’s 2018 California Air Quality Award for Corporate Environmental Stewardship1. The Coalition for Clean Air is a nonprofit founded in 1971, whose mission is to “protect public health, improve air quality and prevent climate change.” The Honda Clarity series includes the Clarity Plug-in Hybrid, which is available nationwide, as well as the Clarity Electric (available in California and Oregon) and Clarity Fuel Cell (available in California).

“The Coalition for Clean Air is proud to recognize Honda with a California Air Quality Award. By leading the way in fuel efficiency among all major carmakers and committing to having two-thirds of its global automobile sales to be electrified vehicles by 2030, Honda has set a gold standard for others to follow,” said Dr. Joseph K. Lyou, president and CEO at Coalition for Clean Air.

While there are three different members of the Clarity family, the one that buyers can find nationwide is the Honda Clarity Plug-in Hybrid. Plug-in hybrid vehicles have both an electric battery-powered motor and a traditional internal combustion engine. This combines the environmental and economic benefits of an all-electric vehicle with the freedom of a conventional vehicle. Plug-in hybrids like the Clarity can be recharged by plugging them into an electrical outlet or charging station, through regenerative braking, or through the internal combustion engine. Advanced technologies allow the Clarity Plug-in Hybrid to offer a 110-mile combined gas-electric fuel economy rating, a combined range rating of 340 miles, and an all-electric range rating of 47 miles2. Buyers can feel good knowing they’ve chosen a highly efficient and environmentally-friendly vehicle that doesn’t compromise on any of the freedom and versatility found in traditional vehicles.

Exterior

The Honda Clarity boasts a unique exterior design with a low, wide, aerodynamic body. The sculpted body was designed to efficiently distribute airflow across the body for a quiet and comfortable ride. Standard LED headlights give the Clarity a modern look. Shoppers can choose from available Platinum White Pearl, Solar Silver Metallic, Modern Steel Metallic, Crystal Black Pearl, Moonlit Forest Pearl, and Crimson Pearl exterior colors.

Interior

The Clarity comes standard with many of the modern amenities that buyers expect. Intuitive technology is integrated throughout the vehicle, such as a multi-angle rearview camera with dynamic guidelines3, a smart entry system with push button start, and an 8-inch touchscreen supporting Apple CarPlay4 and Android Auto5. Every Clarity includes standard Honda Sensing driver assistance and safety technologies, like Collision Mitigation Braking System6, Road Departure Mitigation System7, Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow8, and Lane Keeping Assist System9. Interior materials are premium and environmentally responsible. The Touring trim adds remote climate pre-conditioning, leather-trimmed seating, and more.
