New Honda Passport Boosts Brand’s Truck Line-up

Honda is giving its light truck line-up a boost with the new Honda Passport.

Find out more below.

What is Honda Passport?

Why do you want a new Honda Passport?

Well, there’s a lot of reasons, actually.

Henio Arcangeli Jr., Senior Vice President of American Honda, made a compelling case for many of them during his big YouTube reveal of the Passport this past November.

He described how the Passport will “attack a segment that Honda doesn’t currently compete in.” He then went on to describe the Passport as being bigger and more rugged than the CR-V and more personal and sporty than the family-focused Pilot.

“We believe that the new Passport delivers something unique, more off-road capable than soft-roaders in the segment, but with much better on-road dynamics than the off-road centric vehicles in the class, while still delivering a high level of rugged terrain and all-weather capability,” Arcangeli said.

New Honda Passport Features

Tech.

Standard tech features include 215-watt Audio System with Six Speakers and a Subwoofer, Push-Button Starting, Keyless Entry, and more.

There’s also an available Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System.

Interior

The interior gives you seating for five, ample cargo space w/ underfloor storage, one-touch fold-down 60/40 Split Rear Seatback, Three-Zone Climate Control, and much more.

EX-L, Touring, and Elite trims feature Heated Front Seats.

Finally, the dashboard, steering wheel, and center console all echo what you’d find inside a Honda Pilot.

Exterior

Enthusiasts will be happy to hear about the Passport’s athletic design and overall utility. This is reflected in the model’s available Roof Rails, available Gloss-Black Wheels, and generous mix of available Honda Genuine Accessories.

Other key exterior touchpoints include Power Lift-Gate with Hands-Free Operation (trim dependent), and standard items like Full-LED Exterior Lighting, 20”-inch Wheels and Tires, and LED taillights.

The EX-L, Touring, and Elite trims also boast a sunroof.

Performance + Engine

The Passport’s engine is a 3.5L V6 that achieves 280 hp.  AWD models use i-VTM4 Torque Vectoring which actively sends torque to the wheel or wheels that can use it best.

Intelligent Traction Management System provides you with Snow, Sand, and Mud Modes with an eye toward optimizing your off-road driving experience.

Wondering how much can a Honda Passport tow? Its standard towing capacity is 3,500 lbs. However, adding the available Accessory Tow Package to the model’s Touring trim nets you a towing capacity of 5,000 lbs.

What is Honda Sensing?

With Honda Sensing, you can rest a bit easier knowing that smart tech is keeping an eye out for you.

This exclusive safety suite consists of:

    • Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS)
    • Road Departure Mitigation System (RDM)
    • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
    • Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)
    • Lane Departure Warning
    • Forward Collision Warning
