The 2015 CR-Z hybrid runs on a hybrid gasoline-electric system that pairs up a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric motor. When working together they can produce up to 130 horsepower and 140 pound-feet of torque, when a six-speed manual transmission is employed. Driving Modes

The CR-Z has a three-mode selector for the driver which allows them to choose between Normal, Econ and Sport driving modes. Every mode makes boundaries for the steering effort, sensitivity of the gas pedal, extra electric motor assist with the manual, transmission programming for the CVT and air-conditioning usage. If the battery is charged at least 50 percent, the Plus Sport System will let the driver experience a boost in acceleration if they are driving over 19 mph. The S+ button on the steering wheel lets the most amount of power through from the battery pack for five seconds, and it can be used on any of the driving modes.
