Are Honda Hybrid Vehicles Reliable?

Though hybrid vehicles have been around for a long time now, they took a while to actually become popular among car drivers here in the United States. But now, they are mo popular than ever and they are here to stay.

One of the concerns drivers may have had in the past is the question of whether or not these hybrid models could be considered reliable. We can’t speak for all auto brands out there, but we can speak for Honda. And the answer to that question is that, yes, Honda hybrid vehicles are reliable and are a great buy.

Though 2023 hybrid models haven’t been out long enough to accurately judge reliability, we can judge the 2022 models. Here we will be focusing on the 2022 Honda CR-V Hybrid (MSRP starting at $31,110) and the 2022 Honda Accord Hybrid (MSRP starting at $26,520).

Honda Hybrid Reliability Rating

There are many organizations you could go to to learn about vehicle reliability. Here, we’ll be focusing on reports from U.S. News & World Report regarding the Accord Hybrid and CR-V Hybrid reliability.

U.S. News & World Report uses J.D. Power Quality and Reliability ratings as part of their judgment. According to them, both models earned respectable scores… 84 for the CR-V Hybrid and 82 for the Accord Hybrid. These scores take into consideration factors such as owner response and feedback.

Perhaps most impressive is the Accord Hybrid’s lack of recalls. So many models today experience a recall at one point or another, but the 2022 Honda Accord Hybrid has had any. Moreover, both vehicles boast a 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty and a 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty. To give you even more confidence with the hybrid system, however, they also come with a warranty for the hybrid parts, amounting to 8 years/100,000 miles (10 years/150,000 miles in some states).
