Honda Partners With 88rising To Promote Asian Artists

Founded in 2015 by Sean Miyashiro and Jaeson Ma, with Miyashiro describing 88rising as a record label company that specializes in management, video production, and marketing. They are primarily geared towards working with Asian American and Asian musical talent, as they aim to “bridge the gap between Asian and American music,” according to Sean Miyashiro. 

Bringing Music & Cars Together

Since 2022, Honda has been working with 88rising as their official automotive partner, and they are continuing their successful partnership, including at the most recent event held in Pasadena, California, in August of this year. The 88rising Head in the Clouds Musical and Arts Festival took place with amazing performances, such as the “Honda Double Happiness” stage that consisted of artists Stephanie Poetri, Spence Lee, Lyn Lapid, Phum Viphurit, Eyedress, Grentperez, and Akini Jing. 

The festival was home to a 2000 Honda Civic Si project car and the 2023 Honda Civic Type R, which is the most powerful Honda ever produced for the United States.

Award Winning Productions

When Honda and 88rising first started collaborating, it was to celebrate the introduction of the new Honda HR-V, later releasing together a docu-series chronicling Indonesian singer-songwriter NIKI. Back in May of this year, Honda and 88rising teamed up for the 2023 New York Head in the Clouds Musical and Arts Festival featuring Raveena, Atarashii Gakko!, Spence Lee, Wolftyla and Knock2. A 2023 docu-series starring Warren Hue was awarded the Gold Honor by the Shorty Awards.
